This segment starts and ends at Cherohala Harley-Davidson, Tellico Plains, TN.
Lost Creek trail is not for the beginner off-road enthusiast. Sections of the route, while fun, should be run with 50/50 tires. An expert however could complete with a stock 80/20 tire. We start you off and the Cherohala Harley Davidson store, easy with Old Furnace Road and Joe Brown Highway. A mix of gravel and pavement for all to enjoy. You pop out onto Hiwassee Dam Road and ride over the scenic dam, warming you back to well-paved twisty roads. Next, the Upper and Lower Bear Paw roads entertain you until you get to the gem. Candy Mountain and Wehutty roads are sheer paved fun, enjoy. But soon you get to the crown of the tour. Kimsey Mountain Highway, 14 miles of changing mountain terrain, from gravel to rock, this will test your off-road skills. But don’t relax just yet, you transition to McFarland and Lost Creek for miles of challenging surfaces, obstacles, and rocky climbs. After this your ride home seems a walk in the park, you will be entertained with a mix of paved and gravel roads. When you turn off of Lost Creek Road onto Highway 30. If you need to relax, go past the Oswald right turn, 1.5 miles to “The Store” (2088 Highway 30 Reliance TN) you can get 87 octane 100% gas and a burger, because this is the last stop for 50 miles for those of you with less than 3-gallon tanks. Enjoy the ease of the rest of your journey back to the Cherohala Harley Davidson store.
Note: Drive times rely on road conditions, closures, and speed on dirt roads. Your drive time will vary based on these factors. Due to road closures, the map may be briefly changed, but the turn-by-turn instructions remain accurate.
